GCF Summer 2001 Leadership Retreat at Toah Nipi
GCF had its usual summer trek to New Hampshire this year,
this time basking in the scenic surroundings of Toah Nipi. Aside
from a brief bone-rattling thunderstorm near the end, the
weather was great and everyone enjoyed the time away from the
crowded confines of Cambridge.

The lovely Cynthia Lo posing for Toah Nipi's 2001-2002
brochure. 'The pink sheets bring to mind freshly blooming
carnations...' |
Cynthia helping Donald celebrate his birthday. Catch him
while you can, ladies: he's not getting any younger! |
|
The group looking positively jovial for the
group photo. |

Kevin's leadership diagram for the 2001-2002 year. |
Chowing at lunchtime. Are Daniel's shorts really
lavender? |
|
|
The Three Stooges: Moe (Jon), Larry (Gil), and Curly
(Bukola) enjoying what looks like a banana split. Gil's
eagerness would come back to haunt him... |
...when it was learned that the ice cream was made using
milk from cows treated with rBGH (recombinant bovine growth
hormone). Lori does her best to console him. |

guitar. |
Cynthia doing her best Lilliputian impression on the
guitar. |
|
|
Greg, Kevin ('Call it Speed Scrabble!'), Kurt ('Heck no,
it's Take Two!'), and Steve battle it out in a game of Take
Two/Speed Scrabble. |
Michelle leading her discussion on recognizing our
fears. |
|
|
Greg wins the contest for best T-shirt with his duck
duct-taped-to-a-wall concoction. |
Ed's T-shirt comes in second with 'Just Donut',
something he does all too eagerly judging from his physique.
Meantime, Ed and Kurt have the final two-member meeting of
the blonde, midwestern bachelors club. |
|
|
Tim: 'Donald, my camera can beat up your camera.' |
Donald: 'Actually, applying personification to
a camera really doesn't make a whole lot of sense...' |
|
|
One of the three study groups poring over the
Colossians manuscripts. Gil and Donald are having a
contest to see who can hold that pose for the longest period
of time. |
Another study group, with Greg joining in Gil's and
Donald's contest. |
|
|
The third study group, meanwhile, is more concerned with
picking the right color pens for the manuscript job. |
