The MIT Muslim Students Association is a close-knit and friendly community which serves to assist MIT's Muslims in their practice of Islam and endeavors to promote understanding between Muslims and people of other faiths on campus. It currently represents nearly a hundred MIT Muslims, and holds events all year long that promote its ideals of peace, brotherhood, and the Islamic message. The MITMSA is directed by the Executive Committee, a group elected at the end of the Spring of each year, and which oversees additional Committees that organize and run the various events and projects throughout the year. Those projects range from Dawwah-related guest speaker presentation to social and fun filled BBQs on the Kresge lawns during the picturesque springtime. The MITMSA also maintains a prayer room with five daily prayers and Jumah prayers every Friday at 1:10pm. During Ramadan, the MITMSA organizes daily iftaars, and holds Tarawee prayers. Very often, MITMSA members also organize suhoors to add to the special feeling of Ramadan brotherhood. Please feel free to roam this site and see what the MITMSA has to offer. Definitely drop by the People section of the Muslims@MIT, see housing advice, the classified ads, discussion forums, useful resources, links to Islam related sites, halal dining options, search this site, and also check out the Events Calendar for the latest on upcoming events and projects. New students, be sure to check out information specifically concerning you! We look forward to a wonderful term. If you have any questions, contact us. Peace be upon you.
