Such gear must be tagged with your name and contact information. * Renter must receive approval in advance for all restricted gear. Payment/Fees: * We DO NOT accept cash or credit cards. Checks only please! * Leave a deposit check when renting. (Deposit checks are not returned but are destroyed approximately one month after gear is returned.) * Each member may rent gear for no more than two people. * All gear is due back within one week of rental (unless other special arrangements have been made) * Late fees of one day rental fee per office hour missed will be charged for all late returns. After 4 or more weeks, unreturned gear will be considered stolen and the deposit will be forfeited (check will be cashed). * Make sure to have a check when returning to pay rental, trip, and membership fees. * Interest of 10% per week will accrue on fees owed if payment is not made when gear is returned. * Do not mail late fees to the MITOC office! If you absolutely cannot make office hours to hand deliver a check, contact the desk manager to make other arrangements. * Rental fees are due only for the days the equipment was actually used (e.g., 2 days if used Sat/Sun, even though checked out Thursday and returned Monday). * During Winter School, at least one day of full rental fees must be paid for all rented gear whether used or not. * For multi-week rentals, a minimum of one day's use per week is assumed (and must be paid whether the equipment was used or not). It is also assumed that at least half the gear was used. * If you check out gear, you must pay your membership fee, whether or not you use the gear.
