Enhancing the Quality of Life for Postdoctoral Scholars at MIT

In the Spring 2003 the Postdoctoral Scholars Advisory Council conducted a survey of the postdoctoral community and spent time analyzing and discussing the data. Two central issues emerged from this study, and a series of recommendations for improving the quality of life of postdoctoral scholars were made. A subgroup of the Council prepared a detailed proposal and made a presentation to Alice Gast, Vice President for Research and Associate Provost, and Claude Canizares, Associate Provost. We continue to work wiith the senior administration on these issues.
