Job Description: Help students find meaningful local, national, and international volunteer opportunities! Develop and implement a comprehensive system for assisting students in finding valuable opportunities and useful resources. Work on a variety of projects, including:
- Working with individuals and community service chairs of fraternities, sororities, living groups, and dorms to get them involved in community service
- Improving and maintaining a centralized resource of opportunities, both web-based and hard copy
- Researching and gathering data on local, national, and international opportunities using a variety of methods, i.e., Internet, peer institutions, print media, individual interviews, etc.
- Compiling the weekly email service opportunities bulletin
- Maintaining the MIT Outreach database
- Liaising with International Development Network (IDN) and update info on IDN web site: http://web.mit.edu/idn/

Following up with students for feedback about their experiences
- Marketing and showcasing all of the great service done by individuals and groups through the use of the website, press releases, and an Awards Luncheon held in the spring
- Designing and running the annual service fair
Qualifications: This is a great opportunity for an individual with a solid commitment to community service. You’ll need energy and persistence, as well as strong research, organization and communication skills. You must be a self-motivator with initiative, resourcefulness, and a sense of humor, and you should be comfortable working in a busy office with a fun and diverse staff.
