Essmart, a MIT social enterprise startup alum-co, bridges the gap between essential technologies and households that need these products by creating a marketplace for these products in local retail shops. Originally inspired by technologies created by MIT's D-Lab, Essmart was co-founded by MIT alumni (SB '09, MCP '12, MBA '13) to distribute a wide range of essential, life-improving goods, such as solar lighting solutions, water filters, and efficient cook stoves. We demonstrate this catalogue of technologies in communities, distribute to local retail shops, and facilitate manufacturers' warranties. We started operations in Tamil Nadu, and we invite you to join us as we deliver the goods.
The Product Intern will help deliver on our goal of bringing the world's essential technology to local shops in India. You will work with our Product team to discover, evaluate, and select new products for our catalogue that you believe will improve the lives of millions of people that we plan to reach. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to test products in the field to determine quality and fit for our customers.
