MIT Public Service Center - Stories

press room

From Cambridge to the Philippines, from Philadelphia to Bangladesh, from Kenya to Sri Lanka, the Public Service Center has facilitated projects that take MIT students across the street and around the world. While some students focus on a project in their hometown, working with a community close to their heart, other students travel to foreign countries, learning to adjust to climates and cultures far different from their own.

Whether it's the development of an ecology curriculum for a Cambridge High School, or the design of a ceramic water filter for rural Nicaraguans, the locations are as varied as the projects and people themselves.
