Most semester-time Fellows work either on local projects or projects that can be developed at MIT but will be implemented elsewhere. In some cases, if a student will be based elsewhere during the semester but remains a registered full-time MIT student, we can support projects in other locations. As with all other Public Service Fellowships, Spring Fellows must work on projects that build capacity for underserved communities or organizations such as non-profits and schools. During the spring semester, Fellows can work on projects for up to 200 hours. Most Spring Fellows are paid a weekly stipend at the rate of $10/hour for their work.
