Residence is in Watertown, near the Arsenal Mall.

Interested volunteers should contact Carol Kiley directly at 617-926-7350.

Teach AP classes for Delve!
Do you like teaching? Do you like working with high school students? Do you remember taking your AP classes and thinking you could've taught it better? Do you want to make a difference? If so, you should come teach for Delve!

Delve is a program run by the MIT Educational Studies Program. Delve reaches out to the greater Boston high school community to offer students a chance to take an AP course their school just may not offer. Past courses have included AP Chemistry, Calculus, Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Economics, Literature and Art History. Teaching for Delve is a great opportunity to get involved with the community and pass on what you know to students in the way you think is best.

You may teach any of the AP classes CollegeBoard offers! You will have the opportunity to design your own syllabus and select your own textbook. You are REQUIRED to sign up with a co-teacher who will be also be equally responsible for your course; how you split up the teaching time is up to you.

The time commitment is up to 30 Sundays, from 1:30-5PM, from early September until the APs in the beginning of May (no class over Thanksgiving or winter break). This is an important responsibility and a full-year commitment is required - which means you can't drop out in the middle of the year. Although teaching for Delve is a big commitment, it is also extremely fun and a wonderful experience.

For more information and to apply, visit esp.mit.edu/learn/Delve/index.html. Application deadline: July 18.

Attention women students: Volunteer as a computer technician at the Women's Center in Cambridge!
The Women's Center needs independent, responsible, tech savvy female volunteers to maintain 10 currently running computers and to set up another 5-computer lab. Volunteering time is 2 hours every week for at least 6 months. An interview is required.

The Women's Center is located at 46 Pleasant Street in Cambridge. For more information and to set up an interview, contact Ming Chang, ming@cambridgewomenscenter.org or 617-354-6394.

Help to bridge the Digital Divide in Cambridge!
The Cambridge Wireless Project (CWP) provides 35 families at a housing development in Cambridge with free refurbished computers, training, technical support, and wireless Internet access (Meraki technology) to the city's "Cambridge Public Internet" network. As of September 1, Cambridge will no longer provide technical support.

A technically savvy volunteer, preferably with experience setting up and working with community wireless projects is needed to collaborate with Cambridge Community TV and the City of Cambridge to develop a technical support system for CWP.

If interested, please contact Colin Rhinesmith, colin@cctvcambridge.org or 617-661-6900, x126.

More information about CWP can be found at www.cctvcambridge.org/digitaldivide.

Help print-disabled students succeed in their education.
Come to Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D) studio to digitally record textbooks in a wide variety of subject areas.

Two-hour recording sessions take place daily, throughout the morning and evening. Ultimately flexible scheduling; you record when it is convenient for you. "Last-minute" and "walk-ons" welcomed. RFB&D records in all academic areas, but there is an acute need for readers in the sciences.

The RFB&D digital-audio recording studio is located at 58 Charles Street, Cambridge, near the Galleria Mall -- a ten-minute, safe walk from Kendall Square.

Help educate citizens about the candidates! Apply to intern at Project Vote Smart.
Project Vote Smart is looking for a few dedicated students to help make their final push to inform citizens about the candidates who want to represent them in this election.

Project Vote Smart is a non-partisan, non-profit organization, founded by such prominent national leaders as Presidents Ford and Carter. The Project is dedicated to fighting the deceptive and manipulative tactics used by many of today's political campaigns by replacing them with honest, factual information. They are currently searching for students to work as National Interns at their research facility located in the beautiful Montana wilderness. Surrounded by crystal clear lakes and streams and snow capped mountains, students receive real world experience by researching legislation, compiling endorsements from special interest groups, and speaking with candidates.

All students accepted as National Interns are expected to work ten 40-hour weeks. The internship is unpaid but all interns will receive free room and board through the Barry Goldwater General Scholarship Fund.

Interns are expected to work hard but they are also given access to the Project's tennis and basketball courts, exercise room, row boats, horses, free wireless Internet, snowmobiles, and some of the best fishing and hiking in the country.

For more information, contact Jeremy Clemens, intern@votesmart.org, or visit www.votesmart.org/.
