Community Service Work-Study
Hardship Funding
Does Community Service Work-Study sound great, but you don't think you can afford a student?
- Remember that you are only responsible for 25% of a student's salary. That means if a student works 10 hours a week for $12 an hour, you would only have to pay $30.
- If your programming focuses on reading or math tutoring for children, you may qualify to have the 25% employer contribution waived.
- Institutional resources are available for organizations that want to hire an MIT work-study student, but would face a hardship in paying 25% of the wage.
