As the Priscilla King Gray Public Service Center (PKG Center) prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2013, we are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented student writing/communications assistant to work as a dynamic storyteller for the PKG Center.

Possible tasks include:

  1. Brainstorming with staff to identify stories to tell that are representative of the PKG Center
  2. Researching, interviewing, and writing for a variety of outlets - including MIT News, the PKG Center website, the PKG Center newsletter, and several blogs
  3. Capturing photos and videos to tell and enhance stories
  4. Compiling data to communicate about the PKG Center in a compelling way to a variety of audiences (including donors, students, faculty, staff, and alumni)
  5. Updating content on the PKG Center website
  6. Thinking creatively about how to tell stories on and beyond campus

Qualifications:

  1. Strong writer, comfortable writing in a variety of styles
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  3. Able to work independently and as part of a team
  4. HTML, photography, and/or video editing skills are a plus
