Walk around cities and towns; read (I'm a mystery buff); watch movies; stare at water (ponds, streams, ocean) and think.
I'm a lifelong volunteer and educator, and when I started teaching at MIT in 1999, I had a hard time finding the PSC. It seemed to me that MIT should have a public service center to match its culture and stature, and I applied to become director so I could help to move it in that direction.
