Sally Susnowitz
Director, MIT Public Service Center

What's the best part about your job?

Talking with students -- getting a chance to hear about what they want to do and helping them think through how to do it.

What do you do for fun outside the office?

Walk around cities and towns; read (I'm a mystery buff); watch movies; stare at water (ponds, streams, ocean) and think.

What drew you to work for the PSC?

I'm a lifelong volunteer and educator, and when I started teaching at MIT in 1999, I had a hard time finding the PSC. It seemed to me that MIT should have a public service center to match its culture and stature, and I applied to become director so I could help to move it in that direction.
