MITSI holds numerous events throughout the year. These range from all topics, such as Israeli culture and society, industry and academia in Israel, and issues in the Middle East.

  • Free Dinner + Talk about the Middle East!

    MIT Students for Israel is sponsoring a dinner where Yisrael Ne'eman, a historian and political analyst focusing on the development of the Israeli state, will speak about the Israeli-Arab conflict. He received a BA in history from Rutgers University, completed an MA in Modern Jewish History at the University of Haifa and is currently researching his doctoral thesis. His areas of specialization include the Middle East Conflict, the Land of Israel, Jewish History and Israel/Zionist Ideologies. He received his Israel national tour guide license in 1992.

    Yisrael Ne'eman co-founded Hamartzim Educational Services in 1989, providing seminar, lecture and guiding services throughout Israel. He has many years of experience teaching and analyzing the Mideast "situation" and presenting it in a comprehensible fashion to the novice and veteran alike.

  • Former Director of Mossad at MIT

    We are delighted to host Mr. Danny Yatom, former Director of The Mossad and former politician for a talk about Israel's technological contributions to global security and the link between the worlds of security and business.

    The event will take place in E62-262, lunch will be served at 11:45am and the talk will start at around 12:15pm. Please come early to secure a seat.

  • Human Rights, the United Nations, and Israel

    • Date: September 15th, 2011
    • When: 12-1pm
    • Where: Room 4-145
    • Sponsors: MIT Students for Israel, CAMERA and the MIT Social Justice Cooperative

    Mr. Neuer has testified before the Human Rights Council to solve a number of human rights issues such as rape in Darfur, the Middle East peace process, and political prisoners in Cuba. Moreover, he testified as an expert witness before a hearing of the U.S. Congress on UN reform, and is regularly quoted by the New York Times, Al Jazeera, and CNN on the topic of human rights and the United Nations. Mr. Neuer will be able to provide a very valuable and first hand aacount of the UN as it functions as an international forum, and speak as an expert on the topic of global human rights, specifically for the Middle East and Israel.
