The Lobbying Trip
DEADLINE TO APPLY: 31 JANUARY

The lobbying trip is MIT Students for Israel's first major coalition-based initiative program. It is being planned by students from MIT, BU, Tufts, Harvard, and Wellesley and will take place between February 9 and February 11, 2007. It is designed for all students from all Boston universities and is the first trip of its kind.

The Trip will take a bus full of college students from the Boston area to Washington DC to lobby their members of congress on a pro-Israel agenda. More than just lobbying, we hope to use this opportunity to train Israel activists, and encourage friendships and joint activities between the campuses. We will learn about how we as students can support and affect Israel and her relationship with The United States of America.

The Agenda has not been confirmed but will include:
[1] Learn Israeli history as it pertains to being a more effective advocate
[2] Learn lobbying skills from a professional lobbyist
[3] Hear an expert on the topic
[4] Go to a Smithsonian or two and shop/eat at the National Mall
[5] Meet with members of congress and have an impact!

To Learn More, please do not hesitate to contact the three primary coordinators of the trip by e-mailing them.
