Meg
Jacobs received her Ph.D. in 1998 from the University of
Virginia. Her area of expertise is 20th century American
political history. Her first book, Pocketbook Politics: Economic Citizenship in Twentieth-Century
America was published with Princeton University Press and won the Organization of American Historians' 2006 prize for the best book on modern politics. She is currently working on a book on the energy crisis entitled Panic at the Pump and another on the Reagan Revolution.
In 2008-2009, Professor Jacobs will be a fellow at Harvard University's Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies.
