We finish up our puttering for a while...

Imre wants to buy some of Eissa's tears, so we go visit Tamingers.

There's a whole collection of Eissa's tears, while Oathar is conned into buying a matching Fire Opal necklace/earring combination. (800 gold)

We buy the large 5 karat Eissa Tear for 1000 gold.

We get it set in little mithril links for 150 gold.

We mount one over the door of the villa and make a stick pin for Haeraan, and use the large one as a guardian talisman for whoever is on watch.

Orhan 1 Day 46 TE 6061

Late that night, some people wake up as if disturbed. They discover that the Utterlight in the Atrium seems to be dark. As they start sneaking around, Haeraan discovers green ninja attacking! Their leader seems to be an elf in white robes with a silver torc and a dagger by his side.

The leader demands our surrender, but we make him do it the hard way. Arisia escapes down the secret passage with Neeland and Rylac.

Haeraan identifies the leader as Gargarax, the Voice, and servant of the Secret Circle.

He cries PAIN and many of us drop to 1% hit points. Some of us only come to 10% hit points. Very sad.

We flee via our various escape routes. Arisia and the kids get teleported to Eidolon.

Missing Stuff: Essicrystia, interesting stuff from the magic labs (not teleporrt terminal).

The vault blown open and emptied. Library ransacked. Bedrooms. Pile of money, giant hunk of laen, etc. It looks like they were searching for some powerful magic item in particular and did not find it.

Coran Maas helps us retake the house. We gather all the clues we can and head to Veriak to try and figure out what they were after.

He casts a spell and is struck blind again with the horror of what he sees. "I see a bloody glowing beating heart of top of a stick suspended in the blackness as little points of light circle around it."

Gireg Jan shows up and asks what happened. We deliberate for a while and then fill him in on everything. He explodes. We calm him down and he goes off to inform secret master beta. He tells us that we are not to talk to secret master gamma until he gets back to us.

Orhan 1 Day 49 TE 6061

Unsurprisingly, we are summoned to Karilon. Everyone except Oathar and Alynna update their wills.

Orhan 1 Day 50 TE 6061

We are ushered directly to the tower of winds and stand on a big circular plaform which travels up a laen tube to the LoreMaster Council Chamber. Seated around us in a circle is the LoreMaster Council. All 12 of them. All the big guns are staring at us. We tremble and obey. They ask us to tell them of our interactions with the dragon lord. We tell them. They ask us if we ever considered bringing the Heart to them. We said that we would have been destroyed.

We are told that Voorig Kye stole the Heart from Shreck (Terror). As far as they knew, Shreck *is* an Agotthu and the Heart is one of the keys to his power. We've been lucky so far in that the secret circle is riven with conflict, but it must be kept out of his hands if at all possible. Vorrig Kye will be warned.

We retake the formal Loremaster oath of "Though shalt have no secret masters before us." We can't really say that truthfully, so tragically we are resummond and ordered to tell them about Andraxx. Kyrik goes so far as to tell T'Thon the message we got from Andraxx. One other Loremaster bolts upright and says he thinks he heard a snicker. Kieron scans the room and finds nothing. They decide to consider this and send us away....

We are resummoned and informed that they have decided that we *have* in fact been acting on behalf of a benign agency, so we are free to go, but be warned that we will be watched occasionally.

We go home and the loremasters give us 1000 gold to fix the windows and stuff.

We tell the loremasters about the essicrystia in the dessert and they tell us about the permanent essense storm out in the middle of the dessert.

We've been officially told never to bargain with secret master gamma again.
