In which our heroes ...

Orhan 1 Day 69 TE 6061

Imre announces his engagement to Nusmoy.

Gireg Jan warns us that Lorgalis is rumored to be trying to subvert the crowns.

One of the volcanoes in the Spine of Emer erupted.

Temple of Valris delivers a toy to Kyrik.

Prince has a winter ball. Everyone goes except Haeraan who goes reluctantly.

There's talk of naval war games in the spring. Wacky. Haeraan gets recruited to plan the events. They want enough votes on the council to try and get it passed. Haeraan is mentioned as having some pull with certain families whose daughters fling themselves at him. Haeraan trie sto get some votes among the religous.

Jared, a young guy from house Dolnegan hits on Alynna a lot, but is otherwise a social leper. Very strange. Alynna plays along. A bunch of other young men start razzing Alynna and Jared. Jared is fascinated by Alynna's claim that she has Lugraki slaves. This minister of state, a full elf, later comes by to warn Alynna to be careful with those guys. Alynna later turns down poor Jared's dinner invitation.

On the way home, Janis, Oathar's nanny, asks to speak with Oathar. She "was out" and minding her own business when she overheard a rumor that there's been interest in contracts being taken out on our Villa. Sigh. We putter around.

We head to the Cold Barley Soup Kitchen and ask Divad for some advice. He says he'll ask around and let us know in a couple of days.

Orhan 1 Day 70 TE 6061

Oathar goes to services on Neela's holy day.

Divad contacts us and we head down to the CBSK. He says two guys with glasses and robes are asking around for a hit. They were offering piles of money (100s of gold) to hit us and get some clothing or something.

Sigh, it apppears to be the Brotherhood of the Word here to steal our cloaks.

We set traps with fake booty and put them in the empty bedroom and settle in to wait.

On first watch, Imre notices a pair of theives sneak across the lawn up to the front door. Imre keeps track of them with presense and wakes us all up. We catch them, and discover they are a pair of goobers. We interrogate them and command them to return to the temple of Eissa for public service, and let them go.

We go to the meeting with the librarians, and capture the brotherhood of the word guys.

It was manufactured in a number of industrial facilities around the Terran empire, used in survival gear. This batch was from a crashed supply ship. We're not supposed to have it. It would be evidence that they were tampering with our culture. They don't need to get it back if they can cover it up. They know about only one Terran base associated with the Brotherhood of the Word and one associated with the orbiting star above. The little boxes they carry were made on Earth about a dozen years ago. They are recording devices and data storage and transfer.
