Session 13

In which our heroes receive a vision ...

Orhan 5 Day 34

When last we saw our heroes, they were just breaking camp and moving outside the lost temple of Cay. The place had 5 foot think walls once, but now is mostly a pile of rubble. Jack walks the perimeter and finds a group of 5 pings and then a group of 10 pings. (Down.)

He paces around a lot and tries typing a lot and comes up with "Spiders - 3rd level" We decide that that's not so bad, but he also finds a 10th level spider.

We pick hole 1. It leads down a pile of rubble, after a five foot drop then into darkenss. Hole 2 is similar. Hole 3 has a tree growing through the hole with bunches of spider webs attaching to the hole walls.

We jump in hole 1. There's broken, crates, barrels, and jars down there. D. climbs down the rubble pile. There's a door down there. We all go down there. It's filled with junky broken stuff. D. finds no traps on the door. It opens to one of those corridors. You know, the ones with the door leading off in all directions. D. finds no traps.

We find a throne room and a desk. On the desk is a magic quill of writing whatever you say. Imre takes it. We break into a baracaded room. There are skeletons lying on the ground. We find a diary of a priest that talks about the prophesy, and discusses the burial of when he died. Pesky Wars of Dominion. We find magic fur-lined boots that fit D. very well after she puts them on.

We disturb a room with an animated suit of armor. It's got a couple of flails instead of hands. We leave it alone. There's a big barred iron door. It has magic on it. It has a big symbol of Cay in the middle. We go back and get some moldy robes, and Imre and Oathar clean them up with Comfort Ways, and we put them on. The do indeed get us right past the magic armor attack.

We go into a room, and suddenly everyone falls over asleep.

We wake up in a new room, with three doors, two skeletons in a heap with lots of darts protruding from them. As we wake up, we get a vision of a tall man wearing a crown standing in front of a palace built into the side of a large mountain on an island in the middle of a large sea or lake. He raises a sword and the crowd around him, 8 people, each dressed differently, cheers. One is a mage, one is a priest, one is a fighter, one is a smith, one is a farmer, one is a runner/messenger, one is a seer (f), and the last is in a dark cloak and doesn't have a face. There is a great celebration and Orhan is full in the sky. We get the sense that we should be there with them, and then the vision fades.

Everyone gets a permanent +2 special stat bonus, to any one skill which is not your primary or magic stat.

We were out about 3 hours. (Time Sense.) Lot's more constructs that ignore us.

We wander around some more and then are ambushed by the spiders finally. We fling crazy whirl-windy death at the spiders. They eventually all die, and no one gets poisoned. D. uses her unspeakable talents and extracts poisons from the dead spiders. She gets four doses of muscle poison.

Jack pings and thinks there are just ten more somethings and a ghost. (Haeraan helps.) They find an old armory, though it's taken over by spiders. Then the weapons and shields leap into the air, and six hazy forms wield them. But they fizzle and crash to the ground. Not quite spirity enough apparently.

We find a long white staff. Oathar attunes to it. It's the staff of Cay. It asks me if I'm the new high priest of Cay. Then it says, we should bring it to the high priest of Cay.

Then we find: Khaki Shield (+50 to hiding outdoors), blanket (of warming even down to 0 C), gloves (+15 to MA attack), quiver (non-magic), 10 arrows (non-magic), long bow (+5 non-magic), potion (UNKNOWN), war hammer (non-magic).
