Orhan 5 Day 17 TE 6061

We start heading towards the crossroads identified from the intelligence in the town we just liberated. Haeraan's paladin and his force will stay behind to secure the town, and we'll head out alone to try and see what we can do.

Abby and Thorn sneak on scouting point as usual, and Haeraan, Thunderbrow, and Einar shuffle along behind disguised as refugees. (Not great disguises, though). We go!

Orhan 5 Day 19 TE 6061

We notice a column of smoke in the distance. Scouting more carefully we encounter a small Lankani patrol (about 5) escorting a female prisoner. We start setting up an ambush to liberate the prisoner. (There's a brief diversion while we search for our other scouts.)

We fill the leader with arrows, but he's pretty tough and doesn't go down. The fighters charge in and engage. Thorn continues to snipe from range. We fight!

We manage to capture the leader alive and kill the other escorts. We free the prisoner. She claims they've been rounding up captives. Mostly women and children. She's from a nearby little villiage. She thinks the smoke is probably from where there was some small town. The one with the only local temple to To-to-nor.

We try to interrogate him, but we suck. He does gloat about the many sacrifices to their evil gods. We kill him.

We press on. There's a town ahead. Abby and Thorn scout ahead. There's a great big bonfire and an altar in the middle of town. There are soldiers all around town.

We wait until dark and then Thorn, Abby, and Haeraan sneak in for more scouting. Sadly, Thorn is spotted. They manage to kill the two who find him, but not before the alarm is raised. Four soldiers are in pursuit of Haeraan. We flee towards our back up troops. Many soldiers follow us. Mass melee ensues.

The first four drop before us. Then the second and third and fourth set of four arrive and it starts getting pesky.

Haeraan, calls the retreat, and we flee! That was scary.

They miss one of the hourly sacrifices.

Now there's a lot more patrol activity.

Orhan 5 Day 20 TE 6061

We head to a neighboring garrison to search for reinforcements.

Orhan 5 Day 21 TE 6061

We'll attack tomorrow in the morning. We try some scouting, but corporal Thorn gets spotted again, so we flee! Again.

Corporal Thorn is given a hand from our fallen enemies. He's ordered to wear it. Sigh.

Meanwhile, Haeraan hands out field promotions. Second Lieutenant Thorn, and First Lieutenant Thunderbrow. Woo hoo!

Haeraan comes up with a clever plan involving leaping from rooftops! Ah, we begin to see why he passed out the field promotions.
