In which our heroes ...
Orhan 2 Day 19 TE 6051
We try to figure out stuff about the Sea Drake crown, so Oathar does
some research. Everyone devs then too.
Orhan 2 Day 54 TE 6051
We try to figure out stuff about the Sea Drake crown, so Oathar does
some research. Imre tries to do some, but he fails. Oathar gives a dramatic
reading of the results.
"To rouse the Sea Drake from his slumber, Follow the path to the
islands. Find one on the Living Isle, Find the other piece on the Isle
of the Dead. Seek the final piece on the Isle of Fire, Where the head
of the dragon lies under the claw."
Kier thinks he knows about the Living Isle. One of the priests controls
a small tower just off the western coast of U'Lyshak. It's a tower formed
of living creatures like coral. Ick. Haeraan thinks the Isle of the Dead
would be figured out if we went to the library of Nomikos. The Isle of
Fire seems inscrutible.
D. disguises the prince and we set off. A Navigator seems to not be necessary.
(Anton doesn't want to pay that much.) We spend a week travelling west
to Lake Lakryan. We head around. There are no people because the lake
is supposed to be haunted and bad luck.
Orhan 2 Day 64 TE 6051
We head around. There are no people because the lake is supposed to be
haunted and bad luck. some small fishing villiages.
Orhan 3 Day 4 TE 6051
We come to a river. We can either follow it and try to get a boat, but
it'll go too far south. Or we can cut across land to a better river. We
go over land. The prince can play the lute, sing, and occasionally spouts
improvised poetry.
Orhan 3 Day 7 TE 6051
We get to the border of Halissa. We put on our clever disguise. Oathar
is a trading guy looking for new opportunities, and we're heading to the
capital, Cynar. We find the border guards. Five guys and their leader.
Oathar bribes them a little and we move on. That night, Kyrik, fed up
with Jack's talking to himself, checks Jack's horse. It seems spooked,
but otherwise fine.
Orhan 3 Day 13 TE 6051
We get to Cynar. We stop at an Inn in Cynar. The prince says he will
pick up some money he stashed in a discreet bank here. The night passes
mostly uneventfully. Kier gets his pouch of money, gems and coins. The
next day we leave town and head out west.
Orhan 3 Day 16 TE 6051
We get to the coast. There is more shipping activity than normal. Many
of the ships bear a white mask pennant. That's the sign of Logalis of
Ulor. They seem to be sailing up and down the coast. There are no Hallissan
ships out there. We camp that night. During the second watch, Jack and
Kyrik hear riders approaching quickly. They pull up in a single round.
There are five guards and a priest. They dismount and the priest of Arnak.
Jack gives them some story, and tells them Oathar is in charge. Oathar
gets up late and doesn't quite have the story together so the priest is
suspicious.
Just as he recognizes the prince, D. drops an arrow into his back. Haeraan
finishes the job and takes the priest down. Kyrik engages one and takes
him out. Jack and Oathar shout for their surrender. the don't surrender
and we subdue them quite quickly. the prince says the priest must die,
but the Hallissa soldiers should stay alive and be left behind. We tie
them up and carry the priest off to the interrogation grove.
Imre heals him and Jack charms him. The poor fool falls for it. Jack
asks the questions. He was tragically ordered to patrol around and pick
up suspicious people. The priest of Yarthrak ordered him thus. The priest
of Yarthrak is the regent. The navy of Halissa is in port. The island
is named the Tower of Yarthrak, says Kier. Sigh.
Haeraan sleeps some more and gets an ambiguous dream about a cookoo when
he "asks" about the priest. Haeraan asks the prince to spare
him for a few hours so he can make peace with his god. He calls the judgment
of Kuor down upon us. Then we kill him.
Orhan 3 Day 17 TE 6051
We travel a bit south and find a series of bluffs and cliffs with a small
causeway leading out to the tower of Yarthrak. It's an icky green tower
tower with an evil glistening sheen. Kier tells us about the underground
passage. We decide to do that next time.
