Session 180

In which our heroes ...

Orhan 3 Day 9 TE 6062

A couple of ladlefuls of molten jewel goodness later, Haeraan notices another dozen breathless and some sort of bug-riding cavalry approaching. Imre calls a retreat, and Oathar whips up an area-effect version of Safe Teleport to take everyone back to the river. Careful to include the muffin pan of molten goodness in the teleport field, he does not however account for the Jewel well's willingness to help. Rather than a 20' area, he hits a 1000' area and the party, muffin pan, jewel well, breathless, cavalry, and everything else around is teleported to the river safely.

Next time, combat!

We prepare to fight. Oathar stabilizes the jewel well again so it doesn't explode after the teleport. Imre put up his massive air stop to keep the breathless from slaying us. The rest prepare to fight. We fight! One of Imre's spells sucks some power from the jewel well.

Alynna deals death to anything that comes near her so they start avoiding her. Luckily she can leap about being deadly too. During the fight, the breathless start stealing the power of the jewel well. Oathar prays to Neela and casts "Reverse Effect" off of a scroll, sucking the breathless's power back into the jewell well.

The jewel well starts to go into overload mode and we teleport out two rounds later moments before it blows. Miles away, in Jar Jar's village, we see a giant pillar of light rise up where the jewel well used to be. We manage to compress the three muffins of goodness into three golfball sized squishy rocks of pure arcane energy. We wonder what they are good for.

We post watches and camp.

Orhan 3 Day 10 TE 6062

We summon our bugalo and start travelling again. Nothing happens. There's a big glowing crater where our last night's campsite used to be. We don't find anything of note in the crater, so we keep going. We travel up river all day.

We get to the edge of the highlands. You go through the highlands to the dessert. We start climbing and stuff. The trees up here are cut off at 9 feet rather than 30. Oh dear, the blade storms are pretty pesky.

Orhan 3 Day 12 TE 6062

Jar Jar tells us the PASS OF DEATH is ahead. It's apparently very dangerous. Jar Jar says its a narrow canyon with no cover, a dangerous small path where blade storms come. We see all this stuff at the bottom of the ravine, glinty with the shining shine of loot. Jar Jar assures us it is death, but we go down anyways.

As soon as we get there, we start looting, and immediately doom starts coming. We grab a few items as fast as we can. We loot as fast as we can and the storm starts coming to get us. In 3 we evac. Oh dear. Nothing happens with the evac. We try again. Our spells do nothing. Oh dear. Oh dear. We get hosed, and hosed some more. Haeraan takes a few points. Kyrik take a few points and bleeder. Alynna takes a few points some bleeders, and a few rounds of stun. Oathar takes a 108EEEEPDSDPCP.

Taking the pulped remains of Oathar's body with them, everyone finally makes their rolls and teleport up to the ridge and merge. Sadly, the storm won't leave, until we throw the loot back into the valley. Gah. All that doom, for no reward whatsoever. Kyrik tries to escape with his loot down the valley. A few hours later, he screws up one of his passing spells and gets spat out of the cliff into the bladestorm. Chop chop chop. Sigh. He takes a few more hits and a bleed and some stun. Then he throws his loot away.

Meanwhile, back at kidney repair land, Imre checks to see if it is Oathar's time. Luckily, it's not. Woe.

Sigh. No phat loot for us. Everyone carries the unconscious Oathar out of the valley. They arrive at the edge of the dessert.

We camp at the edge of the dessert for nine days while Oathar heals.

Orhan 3 Day 21 TE 6062

Next time crossing the dessert!
