Session 183

In which our heroes ...

Orhan 3 Day 26 TE 6062

We take down the other two anubi and are hosed down a pile, but still conscious. Imre starts healing people, while Oathar contacts the boss....

Daenku tells us that we must get to the engine room and then the bridge. He has the ring point out the direction to the engine room. He says, "If you encounter any guards hide. Do not use mentalism against the guards."

We follow the light and attempt to stealth our way through. We encounter an area with various anubi nearby. We attempt to leave passed them. It works.

Oathar stealths up to the main power console in the presense of two Anubi in an attempt to follow the bosses instruction. Invisibly and silent, with the help of a fate point, he makes it and types a bunch of commands into the computer.

Several leaving/teleport/silence spells later, the party get to the turbolift to the bridge. After entering, the boss says, "When you disembark, prepare for combat." We get ready to slaughter everything on the bridge.

We enter the bridge. There are two anubi and an althan. He turns to us and says, "Greetings." We attack! He says "Pity." quick draws a pair of lightsabers and attacks Alynna. We fight. He switches from sabers to blasters, and then back again. We get lot's and lot's of damage. Imre heals everyone a whole pile by using a bunch of power from his magic jewel well golf ball. Daenku calls back and gives Oathar instructions to frob some panels and then get to the command chair.

Kyrik, Haeraan, and Alynna keep him busy as best they can while Oathar runs around frobbing things, and Imre casts some illusions to cause the Althan to waste a couple of attacks. Suddenly, he sees what Oathar is up to, yells, "Nooooooo!" and encases the whole room is an no-magic field. This of course, kills Kyrik instantly, as he usually wanders around highly negative, and Imre can't heal anymore. But Haeraan intercepts him just long enough for Oathar to get to the command chair.... Imre is eviserated (dead) by the last Anubis. Alarms go off, announcing "Shields Failed! Shields Failed!" Haeraan goes down to a broken leg from an Anubis attack. Daenku and a couple of other Althans beam in. Daeknu battles the evil Althan, but when he goes down, the evil one ejects a small shuttle from the ship. He shouts out to the ship, "Lorgalis! Avenge me!" "I will father!" Oh great. We killed Cavar, Lorgalis's dad. That's worth a fate point. Lorgalis is a half Dyar, half-Cataviri.

The combat does in fact finish in time for the Althans to staple several souls back in and throw the rest of us into the auto doc. Yay! We're saved!

The evil Althan was one of Kadena's lieutenants. Good thing he's down. Ondoval is Daenku's lieutenant. (He stole the northern eye and is trying to destroy the world.)

Oathar shows Daenku the Book of Gates. Turns out it's his, and was stolen from the library. He keys the book to us so that we can use it. Yay!

He tells us that the "current" year is AF 18,281. (After fall of Kadena) This is probably one of the last of Kadena's major lieutenants. Daenku's uncle may theoretically ahve made a spare Eye of Utha, but he's not sure. Kyrik asks questions about theoretical essense flows from the rift that Kulthea is in. He says it's mostly a long story, but tells us that in fact, there is no essense on other stars and the like. He gives us the basic tutorial on technology for children on a tricorder. Charon isn't in the sky... whoa.

Daenku tell us that the elves are servant classes. They were made by the Althans. The mutated ones (Lugraki, Merlogi, etc.) were escaped experiments from when the empire fell. The Althans has an empire that seeded hundreds of worlds. Their creations often call them the progenitors. Kulthea is the ancestral homeworld of the Althans. They figured out fire 100,000 years ago (from the past) and have been going ever since. The last he saw the soul sword, his uncle was carrying it into Kadena's palace. The whole area fell into a volcanic rift and is now a barren wasteland. It was located in the other hemi-sphere. He's surprised dragons could get us across. They were designed as pets to eat just about anything. Some people bred them as guards. He talks about riding the essense flows. He pulls out a navigator compass. "Everyone has one of their own."

He answers a few more questions and then sends us back to the present.
