Imre and Alynna plan to head to Arakin to examine things. They expect to claim to be from Ardanian merchants.

Oathar and Kyrik plan to head to Orian to examine things.

But Gireg Jan shows up before we depart. He asks if we are available this evening to hold a small get together here. He'd like to invite his colleague Randai Terassonan (Bard, Loremaster) has a group that we should meet. No families, more private than that.

That evening we answer the door to find Gireg Jan. Soon after a small group arrives. In the lead is a half-elf with brown hair 6.5 ft tall. He's followed by two high men. Our Rahikani recog nizes one of the highmen as Kalen Avanir (half highman half elf), eldest son of the Duke of Prevan (Grifffin college is in Preven.), Marquess of Endar. Behind them is a woman Ruuth, of Ruuth's herbs. She's followed by Kayan Kim, Changramai. Finally, there's a pair: 1 slender pale woman with white hair dressed in black leather, with a big highman with blond hair with her. She's a Duranak and he's a Myr.

They introduce themselves: Randi Loremaster. Avanir Marquess of Endar and his squire Jad, Kyan Kim, Ruuth Tishard, and Titania and Sten.

Jad is clearly odd. His mother is an elf but he's not really elven or high-mannish. How strange. Ruuth is very polite. Titania is sizing the whole place up for ambushes.

Randai tells stories about how he got in trouble in loremaster college. He picked Elor when he had to write reports on famous loremasters. He's glad we all got to know each other because this group will be heading out again in a day or two. We'll likely meet up again fairly soon. They'll mostly be heading east to Iyxia and Follen. We tell them of the doings there.

After the meal they all depart. We get invites to Kalen's duchy, where is father is in good with the emporer. Ruuth gives us a 10% discount cards.

They depart. We turn on Gireg Jan and say what the heck was that?

He says they have not been informed about the climax of our little tail. We're received indications that they are an important element though, so we might have to work together in the future. Sten and Titania fled Tinara, and Kalen's fate is tied to the Phoenix pendant, and they're fairly an odd group, but that's all we really know.

Orhan 2 Day 21 TE 6063

Alynna and Imre travel to Arakin.

They must pay 8 bronze to get in. Clergy of Andaras get in for free. They go in as magic sword merchants and head into town after paying the fees.

They head into town. There's a dive. They get pickpocketed. Three guys pull out swords and start backing away when he questions them.

They manage to pay one of the thugs Buzzy off to help them out, but the other two (with their pouch) escape into the crowd. He leads them to an inn, on the reasonably high class side of town. They find a common room in the inn an dhead in to gather information.

He finally gets around to mind reaming someone and finds out that one of the night shift lieutenants (Niles) has a large gambling debt and is now accepting bribes. One of the priests in teh church of Andaras has been having an affair with one of the male parishioners. One clerk at the accounting office is selling forms and fake endorsements and the like.

Meanwhile in Orian, Kyrik and Oathar head in and try to figure out what is going on. Citizen Trask, one of the few influential ones to stay, offers us "pretty much any deal we want", if we can infact save the city without letting it get sacked.
