In which our heroes ...

We mind meld with them. They know the Alliance is planning to take out the Kaitaine ruling council, and need us to stop them.

The final vote on the resolution is to be held at noon in the council chambers. We scout the place out and get the layout of the land.

Oathar goes to talk to his sister about ambasadors and compasses. She whisks him off to a deserted island where the won't be overheard. The alliance contacted them a few years ago and told the navigators that alliance territory is off-limits. All of the obelisks were removed. When the navigators ignored this, several Vaten (Jordai) along with their Kalcha strike teams showed up in the middle of the navigator home complex, repeated their message and left. After that point, the defenses of Nexus were greatly improved, but still no navigator will go to alliance territory. Cornelia says that their strike teams usually consist of a couple of Kalcha which are lead by a Jordai. The Jenara usually won't go into combat, she's more of a representative/spy/diplomat. The Kalcha are descended from the Kuluku and have their abilities. Skin changes chameleon-style to hide, they're perceptive, and strong.

We go to Councilor Burellis's house to convince him to be sure to make the vote. He ignores us and hides in his house. We go to the next councillor and this time Imre talks to him. He agrees in exchange for a teleport. We go to the third, and Oathar bribes him with 5000 gold (half now, half after the vote).

We get our councillors to the vote and then spread out in the crowds. The vote goes as expected, the ambassador leave, and we mysteriously enter combat time for no apparent reason. Oathar leaves down to the councillors and prepares to evac them. Other people cast various buffs. The changramai all go on alert. We think that when teh ambassador and her guards left, other took their places invisibly.

In the opening round: Oathar evacs two councillors. Four councillors are killed (four backstabs). One is wounded (another backstab). A blueskinned guy appears. Combat goes crazy! Fight! Tradewind gets grievously wounded in the opening salvo. Oh noes!

The enemy spellcaster is a hybrid between a Dyar and an Incoproeal Being. He's got a Ready Merge True up. 50th level Mentalist Mind Merge spell.

There's much chopping. They evac most of their wounded. The head mage gets unminded, but their remote commander takes over, and puppet masters him in to continuing the fight. Just as the last of the badguys flee, Alynna Cyclones the area flinging people every which way. Her Cyclone actually kills their caster, so they all go bezerk and attack her. We clean them up eventually.

Oathar goes down and vanishes (teleports out). Kyrik is killed but stapled. All the councillors are stapled. We regroup.
