Session 33

In which our heroes ...

Orhan 4 Day 56 TE 6052

The Angel of Death is scaring sailors off of the deck, makin git somewhat difficult for Oathar to deal with the whole snapped mainmast thing.

Imre lures her down below deck to play a quick game of jacks. Imre plays jacks with Death! Death wins, but Imre mostly holds his own.

Meanwhile, Haeraan is trying to loot the sinking airship. A bit difficult, but he manages to recover a few papers and the body of the bad guy. Kyrik gets it up on deck, while Haeraan searches the body. He finds a ring very similar to the one Valandra threw into the ocean.

Oathar tries to get the crew fixing the ship. We get the thing pointed back inland.

Vallandra tells of her little tale on the airship "He started casting at me, so I chopped him."

We discuss the evil ring for a while. We decide we need Imre, so after some discussion Haeraan goes to the lair of the Angel of Death ...er... goes below decks to get him.

We eventually decide to pitch the new ring into the ocean. Haeraan: "It's not like someone isn't going to be coming by soon with another one."

Moments before it gets chucked, we waffle some more... Finally, D. tosses it overboard, wrapped up in a little ball of bread, that it might get eaten and swim around the ocean.

We adjust course some to avoid the airship patrols, but not so much to go back into the pirates area.

Haeraan and Imre discuss the fate of the prisoners. (The steersman and the lever guy, a pair of Erlin.) We bring in the little angel of death, but he fears not death for he shall be here when we all are dust. We wonder how he's going to manage that, but he seems confident. Imre starts using his powers, and learns that the Lord of the House gave the orders to have Vallandra taken and us bombed.

The Angel of Death goes and transforms the figurehead to an image of herself. Sigh, it's a ship of death forever to roam the oceans cursed.

Suddenly, a portal to the netherworld opens. Out steps my sister and Anton. Anton is ready for battle. "Oh my god, do you know how much it cost to teleport out here!!!" Actually Oathar does know, it's like 10 gold a mile. We take Anton below and brief him in on the problems. He thinks it's all a big mess. At least we have the plants to get to Halkataine. We pretty much tell Anton everything we know in the hopes that he doesn't smite us. Anton gets a complete briefing. We can't really think of anything else to brief him about.

We go back to our routine with our new passengers when Cornelia starts cruising for Imre. Imre wiles away the hours telling tales of the Necromancer dude ranch. Cornelia pounces. They're in a crate by the way. (No, I don't understand it either.) Imre is taught to dance by Cornelia. (While D. happens to be practicing her cuddly sultry lute playing.) Meanwhile the angel of death keeps everyone else on their toes. Except Haeraan who sleeps.

Orhan 4 Day 57 TE 6052

Cornelia departs. Later that morning, the Angel of Death alerts of to an approaching ship. "Surrender in the name of Ulor!"

We choose not to surrender, and instead start sending teleporting boarding parties. Haeraan and Anton go over first while D. takes an enemy out with an arrow. Anton takes out three of them. Kyrik sends a Sleep X out of his sword and takes out another one. Imre follows suit and eliminates two more.

Kyrik and Vallandra are sent over. D. starts tossing sleeps over as well. Our ship get hit with a nasty ballista shot. General melee ensues.

D. takes another out with a sleep spell. Anton gets stunned by a lucky shot, but seems to be all over stunned maneuvering. Of course, he proceeds to stun himself further with a fumbled attack roll.

Vallandra gets a crazy stike into the enemy captain's eye. He dies. That leaves only the enemy mage and some more evil doobies. The mage vanishes.

Inresponse to this, Oathar tosses in a cold ball, which makes him visible and only minorly wounds our own party, so D. mind shocks him while Imre Hold kinds him, while everyone else pounds on him. He valiantly tries to escape our barrage and eventually succombs.

The Angel of Deaths loots all of the bodies and goes home with her quota. We discover the candles of love.
