Session 330

In which our heroes ...

Orhan 4 Day 6 TE 6065

Haeraan casts High Prayer.

Hey Rianne, where are there recoverable assets of the old Emerian Empire that we don't currently have and know about.

"The Elves of Lys have a portal. The tower of Vor has a number of useful lootz of the Empire including at least one lens. In the jungles of Kuan live the Kuluku people. They have a number of tings from the old empire including laen knives and throwing stars that do not corrode or grow dull. The Lost City of Zaen is the home of the Jerak Aggothu. Much of it was destroyed in the Wars of Dominion, but beneath the ruins lie many things - riches and madness. Plus for completeness, don't forget the City of the Dead and Ardania and Votania and Zinvar and the map of order rooms."

Imre thinks there's a portal to the outer void in the City of Zaen as well.

Gosh. That's a pretty direct answer.

We also head to the Library of Nomikos to research the "Boundary of the Gods". Oathar finds an old obscure scroll which mentions that back in the Wars of Dominion, the boundary of the gods was established and used to reclaim a cursed city. After demonic hordes have poured through and sacked it, a force of loremasters defeated the demons and used the boundary to uncurse the land. The boundary would expand and any area inside the boundary would be no longer cursed and the holy symbols would be driven into the ground. After a year, it would become permanent.

Crylites are an insectoid race not native to Kulthea. They're insectoid with a hive structure and an unseen queen, They seem to be civilized and generally organized.

This reminds us of the South isle (selkai) obelisk. We head there. It was written 55,000 years ago. It was written by <unpronouncible name>. Haeraan spells on it and it says, "On <date>, we have come here and marked this spot; All of our people shall mark this spot as the point of return; Those in dire need may use this to call us; There are more markers on this worlds." We assemble a Krylite Rosetta stone or two.

Oathar gets some fire and lightning potions.

After dinner, Haeraan retires and asks for two dreams.

  • 1) What the general situation with the Krylites? He sees a windmill. There's a big grain field, with people harvesting the grain and bringing it into the mill. they grind it up in an enexorable grinding. Grind, grind. Once it's milled, flower comes out and it blows away into the wind. This cycle continues. The field is constantly growing more wheat that gets harvested and gets ground and blown away.
  • 2) How can we gain their assistance in our quest? We see a little boy standing next to a bizzare alien with a glowing finger. He says, "Phone Home."

Orhan 4 Day 6 TE 6065

Imre goes to talk to Maxim Pellax and brief him on our kill lugraki on behalf of the Krylites and give them the directions to the obelisk to summon their battlefleet. There are several problems. "You've used the words think and may. You must say, 'We will bodly stride down to the dark depths and do this thing.' "

Alynna goes to talk to Gireg Jan about it and beats all around the bush. He still leaves without listening too hard.

Haeraan and Kyrik talk to Veriak. He pulls out his deck, shuffles it randomly, and pulls the ace through 10 of swords all consecutively. He sees hordes of things. When asked for clarification, Veriak says he sees endless hordes, but it's unclear which way they are going. Certainly, there is this endless horde potential. Perhaps more than one endless horde.

More dreams: (Though Rianne starts getting tired of this topic...)

  • 1) What are the two possible hordes Veriak was foreseeing? He in a field and sees some anthills. The anthills start multiplying and multiplying. He looks up and sees a city packed full. He hears the tromp of feet and the beat of drums toward the anthills.
  • 2) What are the consequences of letting the Krylites use the obelisk? There's a swirling mist. Here comes the vision.... Then there's a tap on his shoulder. An Angel of Rianne is standing there. "Enough of this. You already know what's going on."

Orhan 4 Day 7 TE 6065

We set sail.

Orhan 4 Day 17 TE 6065

We arrive at the grotto path. Imre calls a Navigator to get us through the Grotto Path. Gold per mile. Only about 20 gold. 35 gold for the round trip. Oathar's sister is the navigator. Cornelia mentions that the bridge over the path is called the Bridge of Death. Off they go.

We sail right down the grotto path. It's pretty exciting, but with a navigator aboard, noone is concerned. Yup, there's the Bridge of Death.

Time to head up to the bridge.
