We spend a few days debating what to do. The plan seems to be to track the next caravan to leave town and see where it goes?

Orhan 2 Day 6 TE 6053

A dwarven caravan pulls into town. About 20 wagonloads worth. Some metals, some weapons, some sealed crates. After protesting that the crates are nothing useful, the crates start getting put on a small maneuverable ship named Seaweed manned by some Erlin and men.

D. activates most of her unspeakable abilities and then begins sneaking onto the ship. She heads down the forward hatch and finds a sleeping area. She eventually discovers the crates and opens one, and findsa big ceramic jar inside that's sealed with wax. It was in a box filled with sawdust. She cuts the wax seal and opens it. Inside is a black powder. It smells of sulphur. Suddenly, a stick snaps and some guard comes to investigate. They chase her about a bit, but she dives off the side and waterbreathes her way to safety.

She brings back a sample of black powder, which Vallandra immediately identifies as super secret, can't even talk about it, 'SPLODIE POWDER! She's sort of bummed that the splodie powder is being shipped out from a Dwarven city.

"If the only thing you want is information, then there's no need to blow up the ship." -D.

We decide to follow the caravan back to its source.

The caravan sets out and we follow. "Don't mind us. We're just dawdling along half a mile behind this caravan."

Three weeks of following the caravan. Then it turns off the road and follows a path into the hills.

The caravan enters a gorge. Oathar's bird reports that the gorge is guarded by short people above. We confer about what to do.

We go back to stash our horses in some happy farm. He charges us a silver piece a day. We give him a gold down payment and the balance when we get back.

We return to the gorge. We climb the gorge all invisible at dawn.

We climb the gorge all invisible at dawn. While stalking up the gorge, Kyrik decides it's time to jump D. He tackles her making them both visible. Oathar fumbles his first case, and then casts again making them invisible after a full round of visibility. Unfortunately, there's now some speaking up from the guard posts. An Earth elemental appears and chases us away. Annoyed, we just fly up and attack while invisible. It goes fairly well, but we seem to be doing well. Suddenly, Kyrik, who we remember destroyed our stealth plan, messes up this one by attacking Vallandra and seriously wounding her leg. She goes down hard.

Finally, the dwarves all go down, and Imre goes over to deal with Vallandra.

The dwarves have two war hammers and two battleaxes. One has a stone figurine.Probably summons earth elementals. They have some food and also a rectangular piece of glass. It turns out ot be a piece of Laen. Woo hoo!

We think they might have gotten off some pathetic signal before we put out their fire.
