Session 390

In which our heroes ...

Orhan 4 Day 5 TE 6063

What follows is a comedy of errors as one after another someone picks up the crystal hand and then is immediately set upon by the entire other team and dies. As it turns out, we don' treally ever get a chance to pick up the hand during this, so none of us die.

We read the final portion of the story of Mahari Ridane.

We tap the hand to the statue and find a compartment. Within is a ring formed of blue metal. At will the wearer of the ring can cause a tone that resonates with nearby crystals once a day or sway the emotions of listeners.

We fuss around a bit, storing up fireballs and lightning bolts in the gauntlet of Ridane. Then we fuss about how to keep our sand lions fed. Kyrik convinces them to go off and hunt for dinner and then comback. Well, except for tha tlast part. They never come back. Then we leave and teleport towards the gates.

We get to the gates.

The gates are forged of electrum. Each gate is secured by bolts. There are locking mechanisms in the kiosks. There are 6 ishru or ataza nearby according to the hat. One is bored. One is yammering about fashion. One is murderous. Etc. They're not so exciting.

When we get there, we see lots of strange phrases carved into the various fixtures. The guards are really bored, as they only have one change dout every couple of centuries.

We show the guards our psychic paper and get a tour. ooh, the chapel of the dragon flies.

As we are getting the tour, we encounter a guy name Merlenus. He showed up years ago and took up residence. The thoughts of the guards always go fuzzy when they think about him. He's meditating.

We take a tour of the whole place and manage to construc ta creep ypoem for each Ishru's gate but we don't know what to do about the poems. Oathar suggests just reading the poems aloud in each of the gate alcoves, but everyone thinks this will get us killed.

We figure out all of the poems and then go down to attack the guardians before we play with the gates. We attack from surprise, and all out combat ensues. It goes our way for a while, but then the old meditating guy comes downstairs and starts waking bad guys up. Combat continues.

Oathar then gets a sleep spell cast on him. The bad guy negates his fate point use and casts him into a dream of guilt! Horrible horrible guilt!

In retaliation, Alynna grusumly kills teh meditation guy. All fo the Ataza shout "Nooooo!" and attack Alynna.

We drive most of them off. Imre cast unpsychosis on Oathar. It doesn't really help though.
