Session 402

In which our heroes ...

Orhan 2 Day 47 TE 6064

We go to see the elves. They are far.

When we get to the forest we notice that we are being scryed by a priest of Ramoth who has been following us.

Orhan 2 Day 48 TE 6064

We start heading into the forest in the morning and fade in a scry guard to make it seem like the forest is scry-guarding us.

We start heading into the wood and notice some human tracks around, but no elves. We head deeper in and look around. Oh dear, those appear to be loggers nailed to trees. Very bad. Apparently elves don' tlike lumberjacks.

Alynna looks into the past and sees a bunch of erlin with bows slip out of the trees, kill the lumberjacks and slip away into the woods.

Maybe we should be captured.

We finally contact an animist because we notice a squirell watching us. After a while of fussing around, we simply say, "we seek the chosen one!" They respond, "The chosen one is ours!" Apparently, they've got the chosen one with them. and they intend to keep him, because then the bad guys (humans) will wither and die and the elves will take over.

We manage to trick them into treating with us. So we follow and run into the forest to meet them at their giant elven treehouse.

Their Warchief meets with us to discuss the chosen one. We head with him to the pool of enlightenment. Further into the forest, we get to a little pnd in the forest. Here you may understand. Alynna gets a vision since the pond seems to be attuned to elves.

Teh chosen one is apparently born to a human and an elf, and there's a crossroads. They look down teh elven path and see a giant bubble with humans fighting in a big war and elves picking over the remains. If they choose the other path, the human influence expands and the elven forest shrinks and shrinks.

Bah. We camp for the night.

Alynna dreams:

1) Is there a third option? Yes, there is a thrid option. A very thin third wedge that exists between the two.

2) Can she be of help to the elves if we power her up? She powers up and lifts a giant barbell above her head and stands there for a long time, but slowly it overcomes her and she drops it.

3) Is there a cost to not powering her up? Not really.

Haeraan dreams:

1) Are the elves totally missing something? Yes, there is a third option. A very thin third wedge that exists between the two.

Orhan 2 Day 48 TE 6064

Alynna and an elf go off to talk to the chosen one. She is taken by tree-a-port to their main village.

She follows them and is taken to see the chosen one. Inside a treehouse are two women, one an adult elf, and one a young half-elf. This is Elena. They chat. Yeah, she' sbrainwashed to think humans are junk.

Her elven destiny comes from the spirit fo the forest, and is the counterpoint to the human destiny. There's one other destiny that leads down the middle path in which she tries to balance between two worlds. In that third destiny she tries to do both. The end result is that she pays the price alone and broken.

The elves are just not interested. The chosen one wants to not know the future so it'll be a surprise. We're kind of at an impasse.

Alynna goes to ask Elena's mother about her father. Yup, her father is Sheridan. Oh, what a twisted web the fates weave.

Orhan 2 Day 49 TE 6064

Alynna massively botches a prayer roll and accidentally prays to Charon that this is a significant plot and needs to be dealt with. Sigh.

Oathar goes back to talk to Sheridan. Ivanova gets Sheridan and is put out that Oathar wants a private conversation with her.

Sheridan is pretty quick on the uptake, and is somewhat chagrinned at the though of tossing his daughter into this mess. Oathar suggests that Sheridan goes there.

Sheridan and Amelia talk and decide to tell Elena about the whole thing. Amelia brings Elena back.

It's time for the great telling of destinies!

The parents are both against the middle path as it's doom and despair. Then Amelia tells her about the wonder of elves. Then Sheridan tells about the wonder of humans and the prevention of suffering in the humans, etc. Alynna and Imre talk about the middle path. It's the only path in which both the people of your mother and your father win out.

Elena runs off not wanting to participate in this horrible destiny. When she' son a cliff thinking about doing herself in, A giant gate from Charon opens and a 15' tall manlike form comes out of the gatet. "Thee is a fourth option, you can escape your fate." An ordainer comes through the gate. Alynna and Oathar join Elena and say, "Don't listen to it"

He reaches a hand out ot her and says, "Come with me." She numbly says, "Yeeesssss..." and starts walking towards him. Alynna tries to tackle her so she won't going the ordainer and accidentally pushers Elena off of the cliff. Sadly, Oathar has already used his spell for the round. Tradewind teleports Elena to safety and the Ordainer attacks the unprtected seers and mage. They get smashed hard. Hit points go away very quickly, and all are alerted.

Kyrik teleports to Alynna. Imre summons Oathar back to the base camp. Haeraan arrives at the bottom of the cliff. Kyrik teleports Alynna and himself back to base camp. Haeraan is at the bottom of the cliff, the ordainer is at the top. Haeraan teleports to Kyrik and now we are all in the burning tent. We escape the tent.

Next time, Ordainer fight!
