Wrap-up from last run...

Orhan 5 Day 46 TE 6053

Haeraan spends two days cleansing the manor, while Oathar spends the time hiding nearby. The townspeople rejoice, but for the party, it is a bitter celebration.

Orhan 5 Day 49 TE 6053

The party departs for Niev, the next stop on their route.

Orhan 5 Day 55 TE 6053

We arrive in Niev in the rain. The city gates are already closed and they charge us a bronze piece per person to let us in.

The guards are scared of D., and flee after letting us in. How strange.

Unwilling to enter unprepared, Haeraan, Kyrik, and Imre accost the guard hiding in his little hut. D. and Oathar stand away. Imre offers the scared guy a silver to talk to them. "You travel with an elf! Dah!"

"Don't you know? Abandon her now before it's too late. It's illegal to be an elf in Niev!!!"

"Huh? Why?"

"The priests of Andaras! They'll be coming for her!" We wonder why the Lord of Cats hates elves. D. throws a fit and leaves. She gets to the gate and starts opening it. Imre puts an illusion on the gate to cover her escape. Three riders approach. Two armsmen, and a priest. "Halt!" "We're leaving." "Do you have an elf?" We argue for a bit while we leave. But they offer to excort us to an Inn if we wish to stay. But we don't want that, so we leave.

We're trying to open the illusionary gate. The priest sends one of his men to open it. He can't and combat begins. It's a pretty short combat though. We mostly just pummel the poor fools.

They call for help, so we kidnap one fo the guards and head back out the gate, sealing it behind us with an earth wall. We cover ourselves in illusion once more and start interrogating.

The head priest is Master Roberson. They don't see us from the top of the walls. Roberson apparently knows Black Channels. There are like 50 guards and 10 or 15 priests inside. We ask him if he renounces Andaras and embraces the true gods, and he says, "Yes!", so we kill him. The lying fool.

We flee! Well, we withdraw a bit to discuss. To kill them? Or to continue on our quest. We decide to lay an ambush and see if they come. Oathar sends Tradewind to see what they are up to. They putter around the gate for a while, then cast some spells, then retreat back into the house. We decide to camp for the night in a nice little ambush area.

Haeraan has a dream that night in which a black cat is wandering around, and an owl comes and scratches it to death after many, many attempts.

Orhan 5 Day 56 TE 6053

We discuss the matter further. We decide to take a week's vacation from our quest and smite this annoying town.

Watching the path from town some riders appraoch coming up our trail. Oathar piles a bunch of slumber mist on the trail. Some guards and horses fall over and D. snipes one in the eye. Woo!! Some more fall over. D. arrows another one. The rest move around behind to cut them off. More attacks occur while guys fall over. The last priest takes one of those D. arrows. it doesn't actually slay him though so he gets to attack Haeraan.

We win the day, but the last priest manages to curse several of us (Oathar, D., Kyrik) as he goes down. Gosh, now we're cursed. Is that bad? I wonder. We interrogate some of the prisoners and get some information about the town layout, who's left, etc.

We fuss about what to do now that several of us are cursed. The God Construct removes the curses on Oathar, D., and Kyrik! We love that god construct.
