Session 84

In which our heroes ...

Orhan 4 Day 53 TE 6057

Pursuing the fleeing evil-dudes deeper into the temple...we go!

We head down to Inlotu Pahal's crypt and engage Xiax and his mages there!

A mighty battle. We deal with his mages fairly quickly, but Xiax and his demon sword and demon armor is quite the chore. Kyrik is brutalized, but Imre manages to keep him up. Haeraan is brutalized, but Imre manages to keep him together. Oathar is seriously brutalized, but Imre is busy. Xiax starts healing himself as his armor such hit points out of the bodies of the down mages. Suddenly, he switches tactics and starts sucking hit points out of Oathar! When Oathar is three hit points from death, his staff teleports him back to the Inn in Norek. (On landing he takes two points of damage.)

Seeing out desperate plight, Haeraan activates the double strength God Construct in Cleric of Cay mode. The battle turns! But only briefly as Kyrik goes down to near death. Imre and the God Construct stand him back up while alynna parries like mad. In the backgroiund, the sorely wounded Hareaan is repelling the demon armor causing Xiax to be weaker. Around this time we enter the 13th round where people's round/level spells start falling off. Oh dear.

Finally, Alynna gets a good strike, which knocks him out. His armor turns against him, or so it seems and Imre determines that his soul has been dragged to one of the outer planes.

Whew. The God construct heals everyone up while Imre makes sure all the bad guys stay down.

Then Imre and Oathar start teleporting people back to Norek.

Oathar, is recovering in the Red Headed Lady when the party returns.

The temple of Cay is appreciative and sends some people to go out and reconstruct the temple. We are each given a charm which has a Strength II spell embeded in it.

Eissa tells Imre to move on. No more ruling the city for him. The old ruler doesn't seem to get called back though. Perhaps it's a vacation. She decides to visit Sel-Kai.

We spend a week or so in Norek shopping.

Orhan 4 Day 70 TE 6057

On the way back to Selkai we stop at danarchis and investigate the mystic stone. It is in a town a little ways from Danarchis. The town has no name and is sort of a suburb and cargo interchange point. The Danarchis took over and used it for moving livestock through Danarchis.

On a crossroads in front of a tavern is the stone. It's pitted like meteoric rock. Large cigar shaped stone with an eye at the top like a needle. It's hollow down the middle. Oathar thinks it's very old. It looks volcanic, but perhaps it was acid etched. Very strange. It has the powerlevel of an artifact.

It's a very faint but intense Arcane power source. People watch us as we examine the stone. Oathar feels it has some sort of cancel spell up that he can't penetrate.

Kyrik starts buying drinks for locals and interrogating them. Locals tell stories of people putting valuable in the stone and having strange and good things happening. He also sees a bunch of little figurines on the bar. They are often found around these parts lying around in the dirt. They are quite good.

Orhan 5 Day 1 TE 6057

Haeraan asks for a dream. He gets absolutely nothing.

After much discussion, and application of the cluebat, we decide to sacrifice items to the object.

Kyrik sacrifices his old shield. Alynna sacrifices her backup bracers. Imre sacrifices the Sceptre of Undead repelling. Oathar sacrifices his copy of the Book of the Navigators. Haeraan sacrifices his previous set of armor.

Way back in the mists of time, there were old gods ruling the universe before the current gods. They were over thrown by their children the current gods. Kor was of course the child of the previous king of the gods. He was eaten by his father and except his mother switched him with a stone, etc. etc. He threw up the stone, and this is it. Oh dear.

It has godlike powers now. Its name is Terrkot, the sentient stone. It's a very minor god. But very slow. It feels bad about not getting credit for it's great sacrifice. It wants to be a god now, but is still a rock. It has a quest. It saw all the other gods create life. It creates clay figures. They're alive. They go out and do its bidding.

Oathar's figurine knows about navigators, Haeraans is armored, etc.
