Session 95

In which our heroes ...

Orhan 1 Day 20 TE 6059

We speak to the mayor about taxing the people of Santa Vallandra.

We decide to put off into the future the decision as to who is going to rule in the long term.

Haeraan goes through his family tree looking for some nascent lord...

We start by associating a company with each of the villiages.

  • Population of Santa Vallandra itself: 1500 people
  • Surrounding area: 1000
  • Scattered Distant areas: 500

Hmm... That's a good start. A low tax rate would be a gold/person/year for the townspeople and a silver a year for the outlying populations. We spend a couple of weeks getting it underway. Expected "income" 1650 gold a year.

Orhan 1 Day 40 TE 6059

We head out on horses to find the Earth Demon. Bah. Alynna will catch up after she finds Newts mother.

Orhan 1 Day 45 TE 6059

We make it to the foothills. A volcano towers in the distance. We investigate the area looking for tracks and the like.

Tradewind finds a single figure on the hill over there.

We head up there somewhat quietly. There's a small amount of smoke with a figure near it by the mouth of a cave. Hmmm.... We can't make much out of the tracks in the area.

We approach the lone figure quietly. We leave the horses on the bottom of the hill, and climb the hill.

We arrive to find a lone guy in rags cooking up some rat or something waving a staff around chanting in some crazy non-language. Very weird. He doesn't notice us. In the little cave entrance are strung up frog corpses. How odd.

Oathar examines him and determines that he was cursed by Grond for trying to take some sacred thing.

Haeraan walks up to him and he says in a sort of broken Shay/Lugraki, "What god brings you here to me!"

Haeraan says, "I am sent by great Reanne!" He says, "Die infidel!" and attacks. Imre sleeps him, Haeraan can't seem to neutralize the curse.

Oathar probes his mind. He sees a path leading into the moutains to a cave where there's an oddly shaped rock looking like a face.

Imre cleans the halucinigens out of system, casts "Charm Kind" on him and wakes him up.

"Must kill hu-mans!" Sigh, he's cursed.

Haeraan neutralizes his curse. We wake him up. He doesn't remember anything after the Lugraki cursed him.

His group had heard that there was treasure down there. Some sort of big demon idol with gems. Their thief pried an eye out of the idol and threw it down to this guy and then everythng went black. He's from Danarchis. Oh dear.

He went pretty far in. They were sneaking in past lugraki invisibly and silently most of the time. "There were two gems the size of your head!"

The lugraki were apparently talking about Grond. Hmm... There was a big lugraki at the very end.

He talks about the entrance to the caves with the guards and the insect/lizard beasts who smelled things.

Imre digs through the midden pile and finds the diary of Hassan the Mage. He talks about the adventure. His friend the thief came to him with the rumor of the giant gem encrusted idols and riches, and they got together a party and came out here to deal with it, and got himself a daily invisibility thing and stuff. They didn't count on the lizard things sniffing them out but before they ran out of supplies, they discovered the idol. Some merlogi and lugraki are working together, others are fighting. He saw some religous ceremonies and saw them throwing live sacrifices into a fire pit and a huge flaming being appeared on a throne and blech.

We neutralize the curse on him and and camp here for the night so Oathar can memorize the location.

Orhan 1 Day 46 TE 6059

We teleport the crazy guy back to Good Mom and continue on.

We make it to the cave.

We kidnap the lugraki and bomb them with question spells. We learn their god's name is Nynaku. Grond is the priest in charge. Shebazz is their boss. He's in the FistUnderMountain tribe. They work with old chief. Old chief gone, we kill now. Then they pray. Nynaku, come help us!

We replace the three lugraki and await some more to come replace us. (Kyrik doesn't turn into a Lugraki, he just stays invisible.)

Eventually, they come to replace us. Three lugraki come to relieve us. We head into the cave to eat and stuff. Once we are out of sight, we start scouting. There sure are a lot of passageways down here, and giant spiders too.

In the five hallways, we find lugraki living quarters, lugraki work areas (they're forging and stuff), lugraki dining hall (we start a foodfight and escape in the confusion), a guarded hallway, and a big bound metal door.

We go back to the guarded hall come to another 4 way intersection. Door with lugraki behind it, evil temple door, and door with lugraki behind it talking about destroying old temple.
