Mission

Basic health care is still inaccessible to most of the world’s population. Health2Home aims to combat inequities in access to health services by devising innovative ways of bringing health solutions to rural villages in East Africa and by allowing villagers to connect to necessary health services and personnelle.

“Health research needs to focus not just on the growing divide in health status between the world’s rich and poor but also on the unacceptable gap between our unprecedented knowledge of diseases (including their control) and the implementation of that knowledge, especially in poor countries.” (Sanders D; Haines A. PLoS 2006: 3:e186)

Vision

Health2Home aims to do its part to turn the notion of “health for all” into a reality by providing some of the most underserved populations of East Africa with health care solutions and knowledge tailored to their needs. The ultimate goals of our work are modifying poor health behaviours, improving health statistics, empowering individuals, engaging communities and promoting health education and knowledge. To achieve this mission, we have devised, and will continue to devise and monitor, a series of different sustainable health service projects all designed to allow patients in rural areas to connect to health services and receive the medical care and knowledge they require.

All of the projects are undertaken, devised, sustained and executed in conjunction with local villagers and health practitioners working and living in areas we hope to serve. All our projects are scalable and replicable.
