MIT Symphony Orchestra

Adam Boyles, director. Founded in 1884, this full-size orchestra is comprised of MIT and Wellesley students. It performs 4 concerts per academic year (Oct./Dec./Mar./May) in Kresge Auditorium. From J.S. Bach to John Harbison, MITSO performs a broad range of challenging repertoire each concert season. Student and professional soloists are sometimes featured as are MIT student compositions. The orchestra sponsors an annual Concerto Competition in February. Rehearsals are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-10pm in Kresge Auditorium. Membership is by audition only.
