John Harbison (harbison@mit.edu), Institute Professor. M.F.A., Princeton University, is the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize among many other prestigious awards and commissions. He has been composer-in-residence with the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Santa Fe Chamber Festival, the American Academy in Rome, Tanglewood, the California Institute for the Arts and Chamber Music West. He has composed in virtually every genre-from solo to chamber to symphonic music. His compositions can be heard on Nonesuch, CRI, New World Records and Harmonia Mundi. |
