WHO MAY RESERVE IT:
Killian Hall is a concert/lecture facility shared among all the School of Humanities Sections, with priority for musical events. It is not appropriate for receptions because food and beverages are not allowed inside. It may be reserved free of charge by faculty or administrative staff in the MIT School of Humanities Arts, and Social Sciences for official MIT sponsored events only. Reservations for other than official SHASS sponsored events will be subject to a rental charge. Please note that Killian may not be reserved nor rented by students nor student organizations. Rental inquiries from outside of MIT will be considered on a case by case basis. To request current fee information, and reservation forms, email mta-request@mit.edu.
 

EQUIPMENT:
Killian is equipped with a Yamaha C7 grand piano, a Herz harpsichord, 147 audience chairs, 28 musician chairs, 28 music stands, a small lectern, two 6-foot tables, a projection screen, CD, DAT and cassette recording and playback capability. 2 hanging microphoes allow for stereo recording of events. Additional equipment or services must be requested from the appropriate sources by the user at his/her own expense. All outside equipment brought into the space must be loaded in and removed between the reservation start and end times.

Killian Hall does not have full time custodial nor managerial staff, so set-ups, breakdowns and cleanup are the responsibility of the user. The hall has no box office nor event information support, so please provide the press and public with contact information for your event.
 

HOW TO RESERVE:
Availability information and reservation forms are available in 4-243 (3-2906). Reservation forms may be submitted with the rental fee a maximum of 6 months and a minimum of 3 weeks in advance. All applicable fees are due at the time of application. If paying by check, make checks payable to MIT. If paying via SAP, please provide copy of SAP journal voucher transfer into cost center #1117600 using GL account# 800304. An approved reservation form will be sent to you as confirmation. The fee is non-refundable, once the reservation is approved and confirmed.
