BosMUN
MIT Model UN organizes the Boston Invitational Model United Nations (BosMUN) conference, an internationally-recognized Model UN conference for high school students, in conjunction with Boston University. This February, BosMUN brought over a thousand students and faculty advisors to MIT’s campus for the sixth annual BosMUN conference. BosMUN allows MIT students to contribute to the global Model UN community by hosting committees for younger students. Additionally, MIT students gain valuable leadership experiences by organizing the conference or by chairing committees. Through BosMUN, MIT Model UN provides countless opportunities for its participants, for its staff, for the MIT campus, and for the international Model UN community.
The seventh annual BosMUN conference will be February 8-10, 2008, and we welcome the participation of MIT students as staff. Please visit the BosMUN website at www.bosmun.org for additional information. Should you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact the MIT Secretary General for BosMUN VII at josgre@mit.edu.
History of BosMUN
BosMUN began six years ago as a joint venture between the Model United Nations Clubs of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Boston University, and is jointly hosted by MIT and BU every February in the great city of Boston.
After many years of participating in conferences as delegates, the membership of each club realized that they were missing out on a critical aspect of the Model UN experience. While conferences afford fulfilling experiences, there is something unique about designing a committee, administering it, and watching the youth of today work towards creating a better world for tomorrow. The most satisfying aspect of BosMUN for its staff is the opportunity the conference gives us to pass on our knowledge of and enthusiasm for global affairs to the next generation of students.
