Conferences

Model UN conferences form the foundation of our organization. At each conference, intellectual, passionate university students from around the world meet to discuss global issues and resolve specific conflicts over the course of several days. In the format of the actual United Nations, each student serves as a delegate who represents a particular nation on a specific United Nations committee. These committees cover a wide range of regions and topics. Common committees include the Security Council, the Organization of American States, the World Health Organization, and the Economic and Finance Committee. Delegates learn to collaborate and compromise to write resolutions on topics. To prepare new participants for conferences, Model UN provides training sessions and mock simulations. Meanwhile, experienced delegates learn new strategies and improve their public speaking skills. Any enthusiastic student can attend conferences and succeed in his committee.

We traditionally attend the Boston Area Model United Nations Conference (BarMUN), the University of Pennsylvania Model United Nations Conference (UPMUNC), the McGill Model United Nations (McMUN) Conference, the Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN) Conference, and the Harvard World Model United Nations Conference (WorldMUN).
