A significant portion of the MIT Museum's collections are stored in a nearby off-site facility. Researchers interested in gaining access to artifacts stored at this facility will need to arrange this with the appropriate curator. Once a month, the museum staff opens this facility (Wednesday-Thursday, the 3rd week of the month) to support such special visits. For the 2014-2015 academic year, these dates are: Sept 17-18; Oct 15-16; Nov 19-20; Dec 17-18; Jan 14-15; Feb 18-19; Mar 18-19; Apr 15-16; May 20-21. Summer hours and access will be extremely limited; please contact the museum with as much lead time as possible for requests to use collections between June-September 2015. Additional days or alternative dates may be arranged at the discretion of the collections staff.
