Reservations are required for all group visits. Since availability is limited, please make your reservation at least two weeks in advance. Groups that arrive at the Museum for self-guided gallery visits without reservations will not receive the group discount and may be turned away at the door if the Museum is too crowded. Workshops and guided tours cannot be accommodated without reservations.

Booking a Group Visit
1. Fill in and submit the online Reservation Request Form.
2. When the request has been reviewed, you will be contacted within 5 business days by the Bookings Coordinator to complete your reservation.
3. Following a confirmed reservation, you will be e-mailed a Confirmation Packet. Please review your reservation details carefully and contact the Bookings Coordinator if anything is incorrect.
Reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.
During the spring and summer busy season, we recommend that reservations be made as far in advance as possible as we fill up quickly.

Group Visit Types
The Museum offers self-guided gallery visits, workshops and guided gallery tours. See descriptions for pricing. Workshops and tours are subject to a $25 booking fee (waived when reservation is made more than two weeks in advance).
Group reservations are required for all groups regardless of the age of the participants.
Self-guided gallery visits: 7 days a week (Monday-Sunday) during normal Museum hours. Earliest arrival time is 10:00 a.m., latest is 3:30 p.m. Visits to the Museum may take between 1 to 2 hours.
Workshops and guided tours: Monday-Friday during normal Museum hours. Earliest arrival time is 10:00 a.m., latest is 3:00 p.m. Workshops and guided tours between 1 to 2 hours.
The Museum accepts cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, checks (made payable to MIT Museum) and Purchase Orders. Passes and discount coupons will not be accepted as payment for group visits. One person must make payment for the entire group.
Workshops and guided tours: Payment for workshops or guided tours must be made within five business days of acceptance of your group's reservation request.
Self-guided gallery visits: Full payment is taken at the time of arrival at the Admissions Desk or in advance of the visit.
One chaperone above the age of 18 is required for every 8 children, and chaperones are required for all K-12 groups. The Museum is not recommended for preschool-age groups; one chaperone admitted free per five students. $5.00 per child and $10.00 per adult chaperone.

Workshops and guided tours: Only cancellations received prior to 30 days of confirmed visit will be refunded.
The Museum does not have a designated lunchroom or dining facilities on site. We recommend that groups eat at the cafeterias located in the MIT Student Center or the Stata Center, both in walking distance of the Museum. Please see FAQs for details.
Lockers and Storage
Lockers and coat racks are available for the storage of personal items. The Museum is not responsible for items left in storage facilities.
Student Activity Guides
Gallery activity guides are available upon request to help teachers develop a positive gallery-based learning experience for their students. Please see our teacher resources page for more information.
Buses can drop-off and pick-up visitors at the main entrance to the Museum on the corner of Front Street and Massachusetts Avenue. The Museum has no bus parking, but metered street parking may be available.
The Museum has limited designated parking for minivans and smaller vehicles. Please see FAQs for details.
