Adam Kerry Boyles is an experienced orchestral conductor and singer. He is the Music Director of the MIT Symphony Orchestra, Music Director of MetroWest Opera, and a Staff Conductor with Boston Opera Collaborative. He was Music Director of the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra and of the University of Texas at Austin Orchestra. Guest conducting engagements include performances with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra, Austin Chamber Ensemble, Audio Inversions, Oregon Bach Festival, and the University of Arizona Opera Theater. He was Staff Conductor at Opera in the Ozarks for two summers where he led and assisted with many performances. Dr. Boyles made his New York debut with the Manhattan School of Music Orchestra in the 2004 Kurt Masur Conducting Seminar, and was invited for return appearances in April 2005 & 2008. An experienced singer, Adam performed in numerous operas with the Indiana University Opera Theater, and as a chorister in Arizona Opera’s first complete presentation of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen. Adam has sung with many professional choral ensembles across the country such as Conspirare, Apollo’s Voice, Mon Choeur, Cantique, Tucson Chamber Artists, and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. As a teacher, Adam has held Instructor/Guest Lecturer positions at the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Arizona. Adam has degrees from Indiana University (BM-voice), The University of Arizona (MM-conducting), and The University of Texas-Austin (DMA-conducting).
