Microwaves at the frequency used in these photographs penetrates water less
than a centimeter. In this photograph the radiation emitted from the horn
passes through a wood panel and a plastic panel, but does not penetrate
the water in the glass container, as shown by the un-2ionized neon bulb in
the shadow of the water.
