Graduate Christian Fellowship (GCF)
Summer Retreat

Think, talk, pray, plan, sing, play, have fun and sleep. That's what we did with GCF in BCH Conference Center in Greenfield, NH on June 26–27, 2004.

We did a "low ropes" – teambuilding course.
It meant giving a hand in various ways (David and Jeff),

orchestrating others (Cynthia),

but also suffering and holding on (Kevin, Greg, Ji-Jon),
and victorious feelings when we finished, although we
needed to bend a few rules (Ji-Jon & Joe)

and in David's case, also the opportunity
to admire the beauties of the nature

it was a good time, showing strongly bad things about oneself (selfishness, unwillingness to pass responsibility,
when everybody tried to balance the see-saw that is not on the picture...), but also giving an opportunity
to work together as a team and give one another a helping hand, when it's needed (on the ropes).

We had some fun with a frisbee (the smooth master Jon taught us some)
(Jeff, Jon, Emily and Jeff again),

but the most important time were the discussions of how a leader should be,
how we did last year, and what is our vision for GCF small groups and large group.
(Emily, Joe, Ji-Jon, Kevin, Cynthia, and Kevin again)

and prayer.

Not only the spiritual food, the earthly one tasted so well in Greenfield!
(Greg, Jon, Emily and 9/10ths of us)

Given the power, we could experiment! These experiments were with
Kevin's MADE IN CHINA high voltage mosquito squatter-sparker-burner-zapper
miraculous weapon on batteries. We zapped ourselves a couple times too :-)
(principal investigators Ji-Jon and Greg with their distinctive techniques)

Together on Sunday (next time I'll try to make sure the guy has your feet too, Jeff):
Greg, Joe, Kevin, Jon, Ji-Jon with a zapper, a random moose and Daniel,
with Jeff, David, Cynthia and Emily in a very badly defined front row.

Let's go home, to do what we were talking about.
To make GCF a living fellowship, not a sleeping one (Jeff)...

As a bonus, because I couldn't sleep in the morning,
I woke up before 6 and went down to the lake, singing...

and found all this... it was a wonderful morning...
thank God for his awesome creation!
