Network & Infrastructure Services Team

Mission
Provide day-to-day operations, management and development of the MIT network and enterprise-wide computing infrastructure.

The team works closely with the Assistant Provost for Academic Computing and the Director of Office Computing to provide a functional and solid foundation of technology in a diverse, open and challenging network and computing environment. The team leaders are members of the IT Architecture Group to guide technological directions, review projects that impact the infrastructure and help set policy.

The group relies on the Computing Help Desk for providing customers with support, triage and first tier problem resolution and utilizes the Projects/Network Installation and Repair team for facility management, construction, installations & repair of the campus network connections and wireless access points.

Network and Computing Infrastructure
The Network Team runs a number of services which are supported by the Computing HelpDesk. The main services provided by the team include internal and external network connectivity, network registration, email and email lists, and a number of central web services. Please consult 3-DOWN for scheduled maintenance and service outages.
