At MIT’s ‘Innovations in Health Care’ conference, industry experts discuss how to maintain quality while reining in costs.
One of MIT's newer traditions enters its third season as the annual MIT-Made Media Spectacle presents films, videos and hypertext produced by MIT students on Friday, May 16 at 7pm in Rm 3-133. Sponsored by Film and Media Studies at MIT, the screening will be preceded by an end-of-semester party from 5-7pm in Rm 14E-304.
Submissions range from a fully plotted video comedy to a Super-8mm exploration of Massachusetts Avenue to a multipage hypertext story. One of the shortest entries is Phillip R. Tiongson's 30-second VHS entry to Apple Computer's "Dreams" television commercial contest. Although Mr. Tiongson's commercial, co-directed by fellow Media Lab graduate student Arjan Schutte, didn't win any contest prizes, the Media Spectacle offers a chance to see their creation in its entirety, without the TV-commercial dangers of fast-forwarding or channel-changing.
