An algorithm that can accurately gauge heart rate by measuring tiny head movements in video data could ultimately help diagnose cardiac disease.
VASSAR STREET UTILITIES
The crosswalk at Vassar Street from Building 38 to Building 44 is blocked due to drain work. A new walk that meets handicapped requirements crosses from Building 36 to Building 45. Pedestrians should use this new walk and not cross through the construction zone.
Occupants of Building 36 may experience some noise and odor as work continues. Mitigation for construction equipment exhaust fumes in Building 36 is being implemented.
MEMORIAL DRIVE TRAFFIC SIGNALS
Work continues on Memorial Drive around the Endicott and Wadsworth Street intersections. The traffic signals are expected to be operational by Feb. 8.
NSTAR TRANSMISSION LINE
Work to install an NStar 115 kv transmission line along Memorial Drive from Pleasant Street to the Longfellow Bridge will continue through the winter. Lane restrictions may cause traffic delays.
Waterproofing, insulation and windows are being installed. Ongoing excavation at the west end of Vassar Street for utility work may affect traffic flow.
SPORTS & FITNESS CENTER
Roof work, drywall framing, rough plumbing and fireproofing continue, with special precautions regarding generation of noise. Accesses to Building W34 and Kresge Auditorium may be congested.
Pedestrian access may be restricted between Buildings 16, 18 and 56.
