The Emile Bustani Middle East Seminar at MIT will celebrate its 23rd anniversary with two lectures this fall on contemporary Middle Eastern affairs. On Oct. 21, Dr. NilÃ¼fer GÃ¶le, professor of sociology at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris, will give a lecture entitled "Islam and Europe: The Changing Face of Public Culture." On Nov. 4, Dalia Mogahed, senior analyst and executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, will lecture on "Who Speaks for Islam?"
The seminar is funded by the Bustani family of Beirut, Lebanon, in memory of the late Emile M. Bustani '33.
