The MIT Giving Tree began in 1992, and over the years it has provided gifts ranging from baby teething toys, to dolls and fire trucks, to necessities such as soap, deodorant and socks for young adults.
To participate in the Giving Tree, MIT community members should stop by the MIT Public Service Center (4-104) between Nov. 23 and Dec. 14 to pick up a gift request. Participants are asked to purchase, wrap and return the gifts to 4-104 by 10 a.m. on December 15, 2009.
More information, including a list of participating agencies, can be found at: http://web.mit.edu/mitpsc/programs/givingtree/. Questions about the MIT Giving Tree should be directed to Kristi Gundrum Kebinger, Volunteer & Outreach Administrator, MIT Public Service Center, mitgivingtree@mit.edu, 617-253-8968, 4-104.
