The YFA program combines funding and mentoring to promote both DoD-related research and professional growth for the up-and-coming generation of "rising faculty stars."
The award is for a two-year research grant of approximately $300,000 and will support Zwierlein's research on strongly interacting fermi gases in lower dimensions.
Zwierlein and this year’s other YFA recipients will be recognized by DARPA next month at a ceremony in Arlington, Va.
