Earlier this month, MIT faced off against Worcester Polytechnic Institute for a friendly scrimmage at the Garden as part of a promotion by the Boston Blazers professional lacrosse team. It was an unorthodox game — rules had to be adjusted to accomodate playing inside a hockey rink carpeted with artificial turf, the endzone had rounded corners, and there was no wind to speak of — but a great day to play in a unique venue.
In the end, WPI eeked out a victory, but the MIT club team will get a second chance. They'll play Northeastern University in the Garden again this Sunday, March 6. The ultimate scrimmage starts at 12:20 p.m. To inquire about tickets, contact the team at MIT-ult-officers@mit.edu. Your ticket will also get you into the Boston Blazers professional lacrosse game against the Buffalo Bandits at 5 p.m.
